We have perverse laws that allow people who chose to use a drug that specifically impairs them, to then commit a crime they claim they wouldn’t have committed if they had not had the bad drug / alcohol they had, and get away with not committing murder, when they kill under that influence.
This has always been wrong.
I believe if someone kills under the influence of a recreational use of a drug / alcohol, that you premeditated the crimes that you subsequently commit, period.
Use your alcohol or drug, but die in the electric chair if you kill another under that influence. I could be fine with stoning you to death, too.
I had thought we just needed a federal death penalty for drug dealers. Maybe we need one for users who do certain things, too.
