Unfortunately, the United States is following the same ruinous policy that helped bring down the British Empire and the Roman Empire before that. Gotta see a “vital interest” in everything, everywhere.

So spend money we don’t have. Take risks we don’t have to take.
Meanwhile, at home our society crumbles.
