The lefties want to just do the opposite.
It was always technically correct to call a person of either sex in Congress a Congressman, but that was denigrated. So the distinction was demanded. But apply it to hero/heroine, actor/actress, priest/priestess, steward/stewardess, host/hostess, and suddenly the women demand to be blurred with the men. (Although I admit to having used the term "male stewardess" as a jocuarism.) Thank you for using the proper term "sex", rather than the word "gender" which is primarily used in describing language constructs.
