Truth Social, the media firm owned by Donald Trump, has announced plans to create a live TV streaming service focused on “news networks” and “religious channels,” along with “content that has been canceled, is at risk of cancellation, or is being suppressed.”
The Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) says it will launch the streaming service in three phases, with the first involving the rollout of the company’s content delivery network (CDN). A CDN, such as those operated by Cloudflare and Akamai, is a service websites use to help webpages load faster. TMTG says its CDN will operate “independent of Big Tech,” allowing the platform to avoid abiding by another company’s rules. Related
Once that’s up and running, TMTG plans to bring Truth Social’s CDN for livestreaming to the platform’s mobile and web apps. The company then says it will roll out standalone over-the-top streaming apps for phones and tablets before releasing a streaming app for TVs. In a statement, Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes says the streaming service will offer a “guaranteed platform” for news and entertainment “that face discrimination by other channels and content delivery services.”
Truth Social went public last month, with Trump owning around 79 million shares of the company. The stock slumped this week amid a massive sell-off and a filing pointing to Trump as a “risk” to the company.
Watch, not for the conservative cause and principles, but for profit as a priority just like Newsmax.
Great idea!
YES!
There is a huge demand for a platform that isn’t woke, filthy garbage so for them to open up to news, religion, programs, etc., that alot of us want to watch but can’t find. I’m ready!
I, for one, would like to see “The Waltons” again.
TV, at the start, had very cheap to produce shows which have become classics.
Produce what the audience wants, not what you want to program them with. Many very popular shows were and can be cheap to produce.
I even have a conservative project for them when they’re ready to accept content.
You can watch all nine seasons for free on Amazon Prime/FreeVee (with ads) here:

If your conservative project is worthy, Angel Studios will crowdfund it:

The theme song brings me back to my childhood as I remember watching that show the first few years it was out back in the mid-1970s.
No internet in those days!
I hope Truth Social succeeds.
In addition to it and Musk’s X/Twitter, conservatives need an entire ecosystem. Something to rival Amazon/Microsoft/Google/Apple.
Musk is launching a payment service on X, offering worldwide Internet access via Starlink, and building robots and AI. I’d say his platform is the closest to being ready to support an ecosystem.
The Waltons? That will definitelty not be a goal of the network...
All I have is a 6-part TV adaptation of an obscure 72-year-old novel to which I don't own the TV rights. I don't even know how to find out if anyone owns the TV or movie rights, and I couldn't pay for them if I did.
The article gets the massive sell off piece wrong. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 60% of the sales were short sales. Many of them naked shorts. Many sales are on the FTD list (failure to deliver). This is just typical Hedge Fund and Market Maker tactics to try to crash a company. Unfortunately for them the retail investors are on to their game. When President Trump wins, I expect to see many of these players with massive fines and jail time.
Hope it is a success.
Signed up for Newsmax+ and persevered despite their atrocious software.
make a movie
“I expect to see many of these players with massive fines and jail time”
shorting isn’t illegal.
“To deal with Angel, you need more than just a script. They deal with filmmakers, which means you need to be a potential producer or director with a script and crew lined up, just waiting for money.”
It is exceedingly difficult to sell “just a script” these days. It’s even harder for a script that is an adaptation without rights. I had a professor in film school who let me read his adaptation of a NYT best-selling novel for which he had an option to buy the rights. His option was about to expire. This professor had directed famous actors like Sigourney Weaver when he was in his prime, but he was looking to raise money for smaller projects. I had some connections at the time but we were not able to raise the money before his option expired.
IF you own rights to the underlying work of an adapted screenplay, or if you have an original screenplay, YOU are the owner/producer until such a time as you grant those rights to someone else. Really, all you need is the money and everything else is a matter of hiring the right people. If you find an independent filmmaker who is interested in your project, he or she can do the rest. But VidAngel seems like the best current platform for conservatives to do this.
Works published after 1923, but before 1978 are protected for 95 years from the date of publication. This leaves 13 years before your underlying work becomes public domain.
You may be able to find the owner by trying to contact the author or publisher (should appear with the copyright notice). If the author is deceased, his or her family probably retains whatever rights he or she had.
The film and TV industry are about to undergo a massive change as AI enables the creation of content much more cheaply than ever before. This has the potential to empower creators because things that were too expensive to make (for an expected ROI) in the past will now be affordable.
