” He was unaware that an early blizzard “

Back in the 60’s I visited the Grand Canyon on a cross country trip.

Weather was clear as I headed north on 89 from Flagstaff and visited the canyon. Then the snow hit. Route 64 had about an inch on the highway and I was the first one on it. No tire marks to follow. Met a car going north and we both inched around each other.

Hit the interstate and east bound traffic (uphill) was stopped. Luckily I was going west bound and kept going.

First time i visited Sedona was fifty-two years ago. A picturesque little sleepy town back then. I guess i have been there twenty-five times in the last thirty years. Still beautiful but mobbed.

Interesting place in its day. Met Robert Shields and rummaged around in his basement garage with my wife and he back when he lived just off Oak Creek. Some very beautiful golf courses but way too crowded now.

I like towns like that before they become “a thing.” Santa Fe, Taos,Ouray, Crested Butte, Eureka Springs, Blowing Rock, and etc..
