Depends what you call “insignificant”. The Almighty Creator God of the entire universe showed His infinite love for this planet, and sent His son Jesus TO this planet to redeem our fallen condition and assure us that He intends to make this planet His Home Base for the next millennia at least. Each of us citizens of the planet are offered eternal life and a role in the future life on the planet, merely by inviting this Jesus into our private, personal life, and pledging fealty to Jesus and His Father God. I think that’s pretty significant.

I gave a sermon (as a layman) and used that famous Hubble photograph as a prop (back in the day with it printed out on a 3’ x 5’ poster board.

Used it to make the point of the Power of God and the Grace of God in much the same way you did. I also quipped, perhaps God made the Universe so big just for us to enjoy and to contemplate. Or maybe it is just like our parents used to do - swinging their arms wide open and saying “I love you THIS much” - perhaps this is one of God’s way of saying “I love you THIS much!” (Well, along with sacrificing his only Son, Jesus Christ.)

C.S. Lewis wrote some sci-fy. He pondered life on other planets. And if they had sinned or not. He said something like if they had never sinned, they would never have been able to experience, like we have, the wonderful Grace of God and the healing through His son Jesus Christ.
