The fix includes the installation of a drain tube to redirect any leaking fuel from the engine to the ground

WTH? Unprecedented and utter BS.

I presume that they secured an 'emergency authorization' for such a reckless 'fix'. /s (and 'safe & effective' fix /s/s)

Just like how the 1.5 and more commonly, the inline 3 1.2/1.3(can’t remember which) had an issue with cracked cylinder heads. The solution? to install a coolant level gauge to tell you when you’re low on coolant.

Modern Fords are absolute Garbage and so are the idiots who run the joint. Must be banking real hard on EVs.

Personally I’ve never owned a ford.....and this kinda poor quality ensures I more than likely never will.

Not unprecedented.

IMHO this is a good idea for all fuel injectors.

Every injector in the jet aircraft engines I worked on had a "bell tube" covering it with a small drain tube and a sensor to detect a leak.

If there was a leak the fuel was safely drained away rather than potentially causing a fire.

My Mercedes Benz 1966 404 gas engine Unimog has a drain pan under the carburetor with a drain tube the to safely take away any fuel that leaks.
