Most older towns in Connecticut are two lane roads once off the main streets. Even if the cop were impatient, tailgating is never acceptable. Connecticut cops have high speeding fees, and only the interstates are typically monitored by state troopers. Counties are NOT a thing in Connecticut, and there is no unincorporated territory. Brookfield is small enough (and wealthy enough) that marginal speeding stops may be an important revenue generator. I do not find the police to be looking to make such stops here in Phoenix. There is more than enough real work for them to do.
