Hey just ignore the fact many countries emptied their prisons and mental institutions out and sent them here. I’m sure they won’t cut your throat in the middle of the night, take whatever riches they can and just abscond to another home.
It will be blood on your hands when an illegal kills someone Whitmer. And it will happen. Maybe that’s the goal.

Well the USA has welcomed newcomers since Columbus sailed
in 1492. I guess each state that didn’t want to accept them could
put a boundary up along their border and not let’em in. That would
put a few people to work using tax payer $s. Gotta keep the money
changing hands via differing methods.
Good luck getting rid of them when they overstay their welcome.

That isn’t entirely true. It’s a gross over simplification and you know it. There was a period from about the 1920s till after WWII that immigration dropped almost to zero.
Until Kennedy’s 1965 “reform” it was strictly limited according to national origin, too.
And it depends on how you define “welcomed”. Immigrants were charged a head tax, had to not become a “public charge” lest they be deported. Criminals, idiots, and those carrying communicable diseases were denied entry. There was no “welfare” for them at all. They got a “welcome to America. Best of luck to you.” And they were sent on their way.
But you knew all that.
