Primum non Nocere— has been largely abandoned by near constant “intervention” when completely un-needed.

First do no harm is now— do whatever you can get away with and make a quick buck. Truly zero ethics.

Money is a motivator and an important aspect in expanding knowledge, drive, and R&D. Also, with government, money becomes a means of survival for the whole medical apparatus because depending on the diagnosis, reimbursements become extremely stressful due to regs/idiot totalitarian measures employed by bean counters whose bosses we elect. Then comes insurance companies input because the consumer has very high demands which...cost a lot of money to provide.

Medicine and money/resources go together like a wink and a smile if you are honest, Ancient Greeks knew that too.
