It is absolutely necessary that we ensure that future generations of Americans receive a sound education concerning socialism.
For the past few decades, American students have been taught a whitewashed version of socialism. Such is why nearly half of young Americans have a “positive” view of socialism and 70 percent of Millennials are “somewhat or extremely likely to vote for a socialist candidate.”
This is a dire threat to the future of the United States considering this cohort will soon become the political, business, and societal leaders of this nation, not to mention the largest voting bloc for years to come.
The reason that most young Americans have a distorted view of socialism is because the public school system has been derelict in its duty of properly educating students about the truth regarding socialism. Trust me, as a former public high school social studies teacher who taught in Illinois and South Carolina for many years in the mid-2010s, I have seen first-hand how biased and inaccurate the teaching of socialism has become in classrooms throughout the country.
In general, the vast majority of my former teaching colleagues both in Illinois and South Carolina harbored a positive disposition towards socialism. As far as I could tell, most of them were inundated with socialist rhetoric while they attended teacher college programs. Although most Americans are probably unaware, the overwhelming majority of higher education courses and programs designed for teachers are full of socialist propaganda.
This was definitely the case for me. While pursuing my master’s degree in secondary education at a teacher college in the Chicagoland area, I was absolutely shocked at the amount of socialist ideology espoused. I was not alone in this concern. In truth, several of my fellow future teachers were also appalled at the blatant socialist indoctrination.

Public school teachers in Florida will soon be required to dedicate at least 45 minutes of instruction on “Victims of Communism Day” to teach students about communist leaders around the world and how people suffered under those regimes. Speaking at Miami’s Freedom Tower before a crowd of local lawmakers and supporters, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 395, which designates Nov. 7 as the state’s official “Victims of Communism Day,” making Florida one of a handful of states to adopt the designation. It is, however, the first state to mandate school instruction on that day, as Florida Republicans continue to seize on education policy while placing school curriculum at the forefront of their political priorities ahead of the 2022 midterms.

Students in Florida schools are one step closer to mandatory communism history classes starting in kindergarten, after SB 1264 was passed by a 25-7 vote in the Senate. Meanwhile, a House version was temporarily postponed Friday just minutes after the Senate measure passed. The bills are similar: Sen. Jay Collins’ bill is entitled “History of Communism” while Rep. Chuck Brannan’s companion HB 1349 has a loftier title: “History and Instruction of Political and Socio-economic Systems.” But for practical purposes, the bills are more similar than different.
According to Rush Limbaugh, there is not a single success story associated with socialism. Socialism has never worked.
What’s not to believe?
Butterflies and rainbows. Puppy dogs, cotton candy, sunshine, and lollipops. Happy little birds chirping in a cool meadow. That’s what students are taught about socialism.
Once again, Florida is 3 steps ahead

Meanwhile, Florida’s legislature still hasn’t secured the State’s elections or protected the State’s budget from financial threats by Deep State.
You know, the crucial stuff.
Making sure the youth of our country is educated on what communism REALLY is, is pretty damn crucial if you ask me.
It just has not been tried right yet. /s
They’ve been taught that for a long time. I remember an article discussing how the history of the cold war was taught in high school 20 years ago. The Soviets were presented as not an enemy but simply an opposition to the US (which in every other history lesson was presented as an evil entity). Polling indicated that this was exactly how high school students of that time thought of the US.
BTTT
Why not forced to know? Every morning when they enter school, force them to turn over all their possessions to their teacher who'll decide who gets what.
That experiment will end in 15 minutes after a few fights from those who got screwed.

Socialism = Utopia
Both fake results
So, don’t some schools still offer trips overseas during the summer?
Pick SAfrica. A week walking around capetown.
Great history lesson thanks
I gave a great lesson to my kids about socialism.
It was based on a news story about a perfersser that came up with “grade norming”. Take points from A students and give them to C and D students. My kids were A/B students. They thought that idea was full of crap. Same applies to socialism.
