“”Hybrid is the only we will go, in this house.””
I’m just a decaying old widow lady - tell me what “hybrid” means, please!
Wonder why prices of EV’s wasn’t part of the article. Just % and numbers but what do they cost?
Here’s the definition of hybrid: “A hybrid car uses more than one means of energy, combining a gas or diesel engine with an electric motor, and the two systems work with each other to move the vehicle. This allows the car to burn less gasoline, achieving better fuel efficiency than a traditional engine that solely uses fuel does.”
As to EV prices, the Chevy Bolt starts at $20,000. There are probably a dozen or so models below $40,000. The average car price in the US is $48,000, so they’re not out of line with the market.
Ford was alerady losing $Billions on their EV sales. Slashing prices to increase sales will only make the red ink flow faster.
Either:
Ford loses even more money per EV sale
or
Taxpayers will further get shafted picking up these costs.
Hybrid cars are like the Toyota Prius. They all have normal engines, but they have regenerative brakes and some battery capability to run from, but they ultimately rely on the engine.
An enhanced form of hybrids have an even bigger battery and allow maybe 10-20 miles of travel on just the batteries, but still has an engine. These can be plugged into your home electricity to charge.
Also, you are not “just a decaying old widow lady!” You are as important to God as anyone else in this country or world. We all matter and can glorify Him with who we are, every day.
You are loved, you know?
