Horse Hockey! The FBI knows it has gone up, but doesn’t want it to get out because it’s an election year.

The Democrats do not want people seeing accurate crime stats.

They changed the reporting metrics to not be “racist”.
And surprise, that makes the data total garbage.

Political whores. They have no scruples. Will say and do what they’re told to say and do. In a day and age when all records are digitally generated, and archived, to say you don’t know the actual rate of crime, is a blatant lie.

“LI: In 1988, the FBI released a newer crime collection system, the National Incident-Based Reporting Program, NIBRS. And using that, a lot of agencies have been switching over the past couple of decades. Around 2015, 2016, the FBI decided that by 2021 they would retire the old system entirely and only accept data through the new system. So they will be provide the nation with data with a lot more granularity and detail and allow us to see what is happening. But unfortunately, what happened as a result is about 40% of agencies didn’t make that switch, so they couldn’t report their data to the FBI anymore.”

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.

So the FBI is used to receiving data from more than 90% of police departments across the country. But like you said earlier, in 2021, because they changed their data collection method, the number have dropped to roughly 60%. So instead of saying a finite number, you know, X number of crimes took place, they're saying we think the range of crime that took place in 2021 is somewhere between Y and Z. So for violent crime, property crime and homicides, the number of crimes could have gone up, gone down or stayed the same. We really don't know.

So much Word salad, Note the timeline for change over in reporting. Also note that the largest blue dominated cities haven't reported crime data.

Pittsburgh police have recently changed their policy. They will not send officers to many crime scenes unless the criminal is still there. If he’s not, they’ll just take a report over the phone.

Soon Pittsburgh crime victims will realize that it’s not worth reporting a crime. Presto! Crime goes down in Pittsburgh.

The following short video is a specific breakdown of what is now missing in FBI data collection and why.

Cities not reporting at all now; Miami, NYC, LA, Chicago, D.C. and Baltimore. But that wouldn't change the numbers would it? /s

For more than 100 years, the FBI has been collecting crime data from local police departments across the country through the Uniform Crime Reporting Program, which has been the gold standard of national crime statistics.

By 2020, almost every law enforcement agency was included in the FBI’s database. Some agencies reported topline numbers, such as the total number of murders or car thefts, through the Summary Reporting System. Others reported granular incident data with details about each reported crime through the newer National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS).

Then it all changed in 2021.

In an effort to fully modernize the system, the FBI stopped taking data from the old summary system and only accepted data through the new system. Thousands of police agencies fell through the cracks because they didn’t catch up with the changes on time.

Thousands of police agencies fell through the cracks because they didn’t catch up with the changes on time. Participation in the FBI's database improved slightly, with about two-thirds of law enforcement agencies now included.

So we have some states like California and Florida, where almost no agency in that state submitted any data to the FBI.

Question answered
