I’m so glad you decided to stop lurking!

I was very sad for a long time about my beloved Nala getting killed by the neighbourhood coyote. You’ll recall that happened the same day that the car crashed in the area of the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, closing the international border for several hours and trapping me in Buffalo, NY. The following week, I went to Atlanta for a bridge tournament and had a falling out with my usual partner. The week after I got home, I got appendicitis and was taken to the hospital. They wanted to cut me open right then and there but I refused and left, believing there had to be something I could try to reduce the inflammation. The friend who drove me to the hospital was annoyed that I wouldn’t stay and have the appendectomy. We were both distressed and distracted upon returning to the car and he accidentally (I think) slammed my right index finger in the car door.

So there I was in the parking lot trying to decide which hurt more, my finger or my appendix. My finger was pretty mangled and I thought I was going to lose the top inch completely. I declined to go back inside the hospital to have it looked at and asked to be just taken home. I did cure myself of my appendicitis, no thanks to the medical community, and my finger looks almost normal now and will be completely normal once the nail finishes growing out. That was my December, and I think I was overwhelmed and retreated from the world for awhile.

My bridge partner and I mended our fences in January and I found a dog that needed rescuing in February. Both have improved my spirits quite a bit. I’m healthy and all is well in my world again, except for the elites and their minions who continue to annoy me.

That was an awful time, Little Linda.
I think of you and your dear pup, because we adopted a rescue pup in early February. We live in a secluded wild area and have plenty of coyotes and probably a few wolves. Believe me, I think of how easy a simple mistake can be made, and then very bad things can happen with an active puppy around. Heart-breaking to go through that, still sending you my condolences, FRen.

LL, I hope 2 things for you now. That your friend who took you to hospital is not upset anymore and especially that the mangled finger does not affect your golf game. Glad you made it through December.

Remember, the best is yet to come. With that, really hoping Canada can dump Trudeau. My first of about 50 trips to Calgary, his daddy, not the real Cuban one, was PM then. Not popular in Alberta, that was for sure. And Little Turd is definitely not loved by any of my northern friends .
