Funny you mention carb kits. Back in the 90’s while building a truck I got to noticing that it was getting way cheaper to replace master cylinders, slave brake cylinders carbs, and more. Seems the Mexicans were doing a good job at the time. On the off-chance something might get hard-to-get I started ratholing components: gasket material, spring stock, non-ferrous sheet et. al. My shop is built/equipped to make almost anything up to the size of a truck so I pretty much just dare them to get even stoopider.
