Big things going on at The Crab Shack (a/k/a my place) in the past 2 weeks.

1. My blueberry bushes, which I’ve had in their containers since buying them 3 years ago and which have never done anything but put forth a couple of leaves, now have blossoms! Quite a few of them, too.

2. Several of the blossoms have dropped off already, revealing what looks for all the world like a tiny, tiny little blueberry, smaller than a BB right now.

My Sis is the green thumb in the family, and has always told me that blueberries and hydrangeas need to have something called an “acidifier” added every once in a while. Glad I listened to her for a change, and bought a bag. :-)

Good luck with the blueberries. I’m trying from seed. They went in some dirt last full moon. We’ll see what happens. Acidifier = coffee grounds.

Anyway, also in the dirt here in zone 10b:
Tomatoes
Gooseberries
Cayenne
Habenero
Strawberries (hopefully perennial ones).
Corn (my own cross between Silver queen and Peaches and Cream). Maybe try some popcorn for summer planting.
Ginger
Peanuts peanuts peanuts everywhere.
Sweet taters
Melons
Squash or Zucchini (I’m not sure which).
Sunflowers

On deck for tomorrow since I have to work on the new moon Monday:

Moar peppers
Moar tomatoes
Moar melons.
Prolly moar peanuts
Moar peppers
Collards
Cranberry hibiscus (more akin to okra than hibiscus)

Surinam cherry tree is doing great. I got about 1 1/2 pounds of them. So good.
Avacadoes are forming.
Mangoes are forming.
I thought my Mulberry tree was dead, but electroculture saved it.
Wasps have yet to find the fig tree, but they will soon.
Citrus trees have flowers and smell so good. I’m gonna try the aloe trick to clone some lemons and lime trees.
