In an interview, Leonid explains that all bands get tired of playing the same old same old, so when they go on tour they improvise and change things up. Which is great for the band but sucks for the audience who want to hear their music played just like it was on the record. Since sheet music wasn’t available at the time, he reverse engineered Chicago’s songs and wrote the charts so they could recreate the original performance, note by note, exactly as it was originally.
Gotta love that kind of dedication to the music!
