Moreover German has three genders for nouns. Die, der and das.

When was the last time one of these "bright young things" ever as as a non-binary for the third gender. Or even better, third kind of genitalia. Even those nutty non-binary want some kind of binary part with which to "play."

I vote for either 1) a jocular blunder, or 2) a blundering jocularity.

The sad part is that by the time these masculines and feminines get done with drugs and surgeries, they are all neuter.
