TASS said the aim was to intimidate and destabilize Russian society and quoted Putin on March 19 saying "the recent provocative statements of a number of official Western structures about the possibility of terrorist attacks in Russia."

"All this resembles outright blackmail and the intention to intimidate and destabilize our society," Putin said, according to TASS.

Victoria Nuland:

And as I said in Kyiv three weeks ago, this supplemental funding will ensure Putin faces some nasty surprises this year.

I think Putin dismissed it because the Biden administration warned him to be on the lookout for domestic white extremists from the US which, of course, is out biggest domestic threat too.

If the West and the CIA don’t want to get accused of terror attacks, their spokespeople shouldn’t be rolling around talking about “nasty surprises” and “asymmetric warfare”.

Putin is obviously going to blame Ukraine. I think Ukraine doing this is highly unlikely. They would not do this because it would be bad optics for Ukraine. (I know, speaking of optics with regard to such a travesty may seem callous, but wars are often callous.)

My next thought is this was a false flag attack by Putin so he could blame Ukraine or the US. The fact the US gave warning means that would not work against the US, but still could work against Ukraine. Reichstag fire anyone?

Another thought is this was Hamas or Hamas sympathizers who were upset Russia voted against the cease fire between Israel and Hamas in the UN.

Yet another thought is it was some anti-Putin faction in Russia. After all, a lot of powerful people including Putin supporters were likely to be at such an exclusive venue.

Again, definitely not the US. If it was us, why would we have tried to warn Putin?

Sure our intel services have a decent idea who did this, but Putin will probably again ignore any info we give Putin as propaganda.

Just spit balling here. Any thoughts about the above or other ideas?

And someone now has egg on their face.

He should have taken it more seriously. He certainly could have investigated it quietly to verify it or not.

Just like Stalin dismissed all the intelligence that the Nazis were going to attack on June 22. He thought it was the Brits trying to provoke the Soviets into the war.

Kremlin snuff box, 03/22/24
https://t.me/s/kremlin_secrets

Already 52 dead. What happened in Crocus?

Shooting and explosions in Crocus City Hall are a terrorist act. There is no doubt about it. As of the time of publication, 52 deaths are already known, at least 80 more people may be in the building itself, their fate is unknown. The huge concert hall is on fire, which only complicates the search and elimination of all the attackers.

Two important points in connection with this tragedy. The first is that three days ago the FSB received information from the FSO about the preparation of an attack. Without specifying the location, but with a very specific description.

For some reason this data was ignored. After the concert on Red Square with the participation of the president, many of our interlocutors in the security services openly exhaled and, so to speak, relaxed. Security Council Secretary Patrushev knows that the FSB has this data and will definitely raise this issue at an emergency meeting of the Security Council, which will be held soon.

The second point is that I don’t want to say that we warned about this, but in fact it is so. In early March, the Americans published information about the preparation of terrorist attacks. The embassy’s letter also spoke about possible massacres at concerts.

Our sources then carefully hinted that they had been transferred to an enhanced work regime, but connected this with the elections. 5 days have passed since the end of voting - and here we are.

Who exactly committed the terrorist attack? It doesn’t matter at all. Obviously, such a massive terrorist attack should be the subject of investigation by the competent authorities.

It is known that the first group of Russian Guard special forces arrived at Crocus City Hall only 17 minutes after the shooting began. Considering that the FSB was aware of the preparation of the terrorist attack, such slowness also raises questions.

Did Bortnikov really not notify Zolotov of the approach of such a serious threat? Or did Bortnikov not know either? There are still more questions than answers.

However, it is known that in Moscow and the region, immediately after the shooting began, there were interruptions in the work of Telegram and VKontakte. The investigation will show whether these events are connected.
