Then I ask:
”So you’re okay with the border?”
”No….”
”So you’re okay with the economy?”
”No”
”Then who are going to vote for, if Biden is responsible for the border and the bad economy but you hate Trump and won’t vote for him because of his personality even though we were all better off when he ran the country before Biden?
…. I don’t know who I’ll vote for….? Maybe I won’t vote.”
This is my favorite part, I tell them:
“You know your vote isn’t about a popularity contest. You’re not voting for Homecoming King or Queen. You need to look at your vote as a strategic move to have the kind of country you want to live in. It’s not about popularity or personality, it’s about a persons ability to perform the job requirements in a way that is best for all of us today and in the future, period.”
”You say you may not vote, and I’m pretty sure because you hate Trumps personality you won’t be able to get beyond that and vote for him…. Maybe you should take a look at RFK, Jr. and vote for him if you think he would best represent the kind of world you want to live in & and leave behind for your daughter.”
There was no reply, just “thoughtful silence.”
