Give them a quick rinse first. After that put them all in a large bowl. Fill the bowl with water to just over the fruit/veg. Pour in 1/4 cup white vinegar, then 1/4 cup baking soda. Mix it up with your hands - it should be fizzy. Let that sit for ten minutes or longer. Pour off that water, rinse again, and leave out to dry. This will not only clean them, it will make them last a couple days longer than usual.

What a wonderful suggestion that I’d never heard before! Thank you. I will absolutely do that. I hope it removes the Apeel coating they’re slathering on Canadian produce now too. I can’t get anyone to admit that it’s being used, but I know that my produce seems to last forever now. I was in Kentucky for 10 days and left some romaine and blueberries in the fridge. When I came home, both were still quite edible. Not sure I SHOULD eat them, but I could.
