We’ve had senior military leaders and recently retired military discussing the need for conscription, and a transition to a war economy.

Now we have Regime-adjacent retired military showing destruction videos of nuclear war.

br< Donbass is not what Putin or the Kremlin is after. Nor is it eastern Ukrain. Putin/Kremlin are after all of Ukraine. Once Ukraine is taken, Putin/Kremlin will be looking for other 'easier' targets, And those targets will become easy targets once they see that the U.S and Europe allowed Russia take Ukraine. Those easier and smaller targets wont be able to trust the U.S. or NATO ever again.

So, Russia will have its way with all or most of eastern Europe. And China will become even more emboldened to go after its ambitions in Asia, and the U.S. and NATO and SEATO won't be trusted there either. Putin and the Kremlin and China and Iran and N. Korea are watching very carefully.

Donbass? Only a dumbass government/military leader believe that Putin and China would stop there.
