The kid evidently had some psychological problems, no doubt there.And legally this was a good shoot. And yes, training tells officers if they have to shoot, you go after center mass. I am sure this officer will be haunted for years about killing a kid, however, if you don’t like the smell of garbage, why work as a trash man..... Why would anyone want to be a policeman in todays world.
This is one of the few police shootings I’ve seen where the officer tried to flee. I think 90% of cops would have shot before the kid made it through the door. This cop was running away, and legitimately fearing for his life. Clearly he did not want to shoot.
