First world problems...
Dunkin’ Donuts rebranded and sold for $65 a dozen. Ain’t capitalism great?

“Although no one has come forward with reports of allergy attacks or illness, it is disturbing to think about what could have happened, ...”
Well, yes, there could be some people with allergies that serious. And fraud is fraud, of course.
But the fact that no one complained even though they were likely habitual customers tells us that it is probable that most people who claim they have severe allergies really don’t, and it is mostly in their head.
They don’t make donuts at Dunkin Donuts. Our grocery store has a bakery and sells real donuts. So does Krispy Kreme. Long ago, Dunkin made donuts. You could see the machine while sitting at the counter. They also had fresh ground coffee. Dunkin Donuts is a $hitty fake like everything else post-boomers love so much.
Dunkin' Donuts bring me a sense of joy and comfort.
I am fairly certain most of these people’s health problems are really just Munchausen syndrome.
Having said that, no one actually cares about this nothingburger except the usual jackasses who are continually outraged about everything
Near my favorite vintage shop, there’s a gluten-free bakery I try to patron. The owner has celiac and can’t eat gluten, and she makes everything in-house; sells to some local coffee shops, too. She also carries some vegan and dairy-free options. My dad has developed gluten sensitivities over time, so I bring stuff home for his sweet tooth.
Her cheesecake is phenomenal. It’s hard to tell that it’s gluten free, and her cupcakes are awesome. Cookies are top-tier as well.
A lot of people who buy those kinds of foods do so out of choice, probably 85% don’t have any health issues to speak of. I know I’d recognize a Dunkin’ immediately, especially considering I had one almost daily (plain cake) with a coffee for about two years, only changing flavors on occasion. Often, it was all I ate that day.
However, if you don’t eat them regularly or have never had one, you wouldn’t know the difference. I have sensitive taste buds and olfactory senses.
The internet gets outraged and I am only just now hearing about it.
This is unspeakably evil.
I would rather have a NY strip medium rare.
