A couple’s dream of the perfect wedding is in tatters after the groom’s family reportedly tried to sabotage their big day.
The relationship between Alexandra and her boyfriend was just like a fairy tale. The man was born into a wealthy family in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico, and his family had dreamed of him marrying a rich girl.
But Alexandra wasn’t from a rich family, leading the future in-laws to suspect she was only with the man for his money.

Keep them all in Mexico.
Hypergamy
I worked in the wedding photography business for a year. I saw some horrible things.
The whole business is a racket.
Mrs L did weddings for 15 years. She has some amazing stories.

It’ll get worse.
Can you give an example?
My family’s attitude is, “We like (him or her) as long as you do.”

I was Wedding Coordinator at a 5-star resort on Maui. I, too, have seen and heard some very odd things.
I agree with the person at the end of the story who says this couple should move far, far away.
The groom’s parents sound completely unhinged and dangerous.
To swat your own son? In Mexico of all dangerous places?
What a group.
No lie.
I dated a man whose family took to hating me with the rage of demons. (They were from England, had lived here for decades and hated America.) They saw he was serious and I could hear them badmouthing me when he was on the phone them.
His sister would stop talking when I entered a room - probably in the middle of badmouthing me then - and the entire family did everything they could do break us up. All of their friends were awesome - eventually sad as they saw what the family was doing.
I couldn’t get away fast enough. This guy was a mama’s boy and mom and sis didn’t want anyone getting between them.
This couple might have a chance - looks like her now-husband has her back. It took a lot out of me and took a few months to bounce back from that.
grooms mommy sounds like she will be a delightful monster in law.
For real?
The bride and groom must have already had a inkling mama is El nutso?
Yep. She’s the only Banquet Manager in the Midwest with a confirmed kill. An uncle of the bride dropped dead in the men’s room from a massive heart attack.
That put a damper on things.
Then there was the groomsman who decided to get totally trashed and steal not one, not two, but three golf carts and wreck them all on the course. He went back inside to dance and that’s where the cops slapped the cuffs on him. 3 DUI charges and a $35,000 bill to the father of the bride for the damages.
Good times.

When I get married I'm more worried about the opposite.
