If France puts its troops in Ukraine expect Russia to do its best to kill them and rightly so.
France is a nuclear power which gave Ukraine security assurances for getting rid of its nukes at the time of the Budapest Memorandum. Russia has all it can handle fighting the Ukies. Putin is a bully who only picks on weaker nations. He won't screw with the French if they send troops. Lukashenko is barely holding on in Belarus now as it is. His regime could easily fall in any conflict, and an attack on French troops from Belarus would mean a broader war.

Putting European troops in the Ukraine is the very definition of a broader war. What logic could support your viewpoint. If you want World War III, that’s how you get World War III.
