The thing is, just like in America which is at times run by Conservatives or Liberals, France has to endure the same process. Sometimes it’s left, sometimes it’s right.

It’s easier in China, Russia, North Korea, where there are just banana-republic-like elections. Their respective deep-state government people decides who wins in advance, systematically.
Thus, the “president” (the apparatchik) is elected and reelected for ever, until he dies.

There is no sense of competition in those countries. And that’s very lazy. They don’t need to campaign, nor defend their ideas.. They are just de facto reelected, no matter what. Those countries are like aristocracies.

In aristocratic / neo-soviet Russia of today, just to be safe, the Kremlin has doubled down even further: thus, every true opposition leader is either assassinated, killed, or eliminated. So there are some choices...
The lucky ones are being sent to Gulags so they can rot there for a couple of years before they die.

Putin has not much to do. Laziness... He just makes a speech to the nation once a year, and dictates what the government-controlled media must say. He is presiding of a big-Government on steroids.

Trump though... he has to fight like hell, non-stop, day in day out, 7 days out of 7 in order to win over the hearts and minds of the American people. And that massive effort finally seems to pay off - since Trump is now ahead in the national polls with about 5%. He will win. Winning thanks to massive efforts.

Putin will win with 80% doing what? Nothing. Maybe he is thinking about how to make another “nuclear-attack-speech” on America and the West? But that’s boring, he has done such speeches non-stop since the war started.
