Texas county declares state of emergency ahead of total solar eclipse

A judge in one Texas county has ordered emergency measures in an effort to handle the hordes of total solar eclipse viewers who will descend on the state in April.

Bell County Judge David Blackburn issued a local disaster declaration on Wednesday after officials decided they had to take “extraordinary measures” to keep residents and visitors safe.

Several more counties have early issue of same warning. It’s a little surreal.

Almost like another “invasion” of counties in the path of the eclipse.

Utilities may be stressed I would think?

Remembering the 30 hours of 18°, at our house with no heat and with this no utility fireplace. Boy, do I have firewood on hand after that! And, Firestarter sticks!
