Recently purchased a wireless REOLINK TrackMix (with solar panel) which is a PTZ with TWO separate cameras (one a 6X digital zoom) that automatically follows vehicles, people and pets (or any deprivation thereof) to keep an eye on our front driveway (mostly wildlife and occasional deliveries).

Not in the same league as your camera but when UPS drops off a package the wide angle camera follows the person and the zoom camera adds lots of detail. When a delivery person goes back into the vehicle (90 foot driveway) the zoom camera easily reads the license plate # at 90 feet. Nicely automated!

We live in a very safe neighborhood but youneverknow. Our downstairs camera gets fox, bear, cats and the occasional meter reader... It’s nice to have a camera on our main level.

This camera can be set up to do auto subject-tracking/zooming like yours,
but it has to be set to wait and watch a particular view to do that.

I prefer to have it "patrol" a sequence of "presets" of particular views of
interest, and continuously cycle between them 24/7, unless I take manual control.
(I have a joystick for manual control, that is fun and very useful.)

The above view is zoomed in a bit over half way.
That 60 foot flag is 3-4 miles from the camera.
(and perhaps 1200 feet lower in altitude.)

Dad and I live behind the hill behind that flag. 🐸
