I think 'in all fairness' it would be fair to ask that extended posts of 'toons be linked the way bitt links them. If more peeps downloaded full scrolls of 'toons at will, the distraction level would be conspicuous to more FReeQs 'n FReepers.

Over time, this issue has surfaced in my inbox and with the most recent comment, I think it's time to just resolve it. It is fair to ask that all extended posts of 'toon collections be linked instead. They're appreciated by many, and linking them keeps them accessible with minimal intrusion.

It's not that memes here and there are off topic. I can't imagine finding someone who WANTS to rule on 'proper subject matter' (ain't nobody got time for that!). No one would agree with such sorting, and advocating for 'nipple piercing with darts' or 'naked gardening' . . . .

I agree, some memes are just not appropriate. Those mentioning naked people and nipples can be offensive. Personally, Ive found quite a few memes to be offensive to my sensibilities, but I certainly don’t complain about it…some might find them OK. And most are otherwise enjoyable.

But…

Good meme. :D

The comment I received today was not that naked people and nipples were offensive, but instead pointed to the distraction level encountered when a single extended-length post provides content unrelated to itself as well as the thread (long variegated collections taken from other websites without curation).

Sometimes I get carried away and try to address multple topics on my mind in one analytical post (one umbrella over too many discordant ideas) and it can provoke distraction and reader fatigue. Add in off-topic content to a multi-pronged post like that and it can really distract. That's my interpretation of the sum of comments that have trickled in over time in addition to my own encounters with large meme collection posts. Usually I 'wait out' such comments to see if they resolve themselves, but this issue has been quietly consistent over time and supports my own impressions.

I think in the past, I've done small meme collection posts that struck me the same way; I was trying to save time but if they don't cohere in some way it can really distract and I ended up not liking my post(s).

Typing the last few lines takes me back to a video presentation by a 12 year old girl in which she discussed in amazing detail, with epiphany provoking examples, how a reader would interpret a published page differently, based on the format and variety of content offered. Good times. Good times.
