the laws are not about anti Jewish opinions. They are about threatening violence.

For example, posting support of destroying Israel and threatening Jewish students and faculty just because they are of Jewish heritage. Given the numerous physical attacks on campus such things have to be taken seriously.

If I post Nuke Iran, no one will think I actually mean it, but if I post from the river to the sea, it means I support Hamas’ open plans to kill every Israeli in the Middle East (and kill a lot of the rest of us while they are at it).

Thanks.
Scratchin my head...as stated, the words used in the new SD law were “Accusing” x 3 and “Denying by Claiming”.
That’s speech. Me even saying “from the river to the sea” is speech.
There’s no hate speech exception to\in the First Amendment.
The Supremes have constantly sided with this point of view.

decent explanation and background here of R.A.V. v. City of St. Paul, which seems to be on point.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R.A.V._v._City_of_St._Paul

The Supremes ruled the ordinance unconstitutional.

I expect this to eventually be adiosed.

Should be interesting.
