“I’ve heard the women’s NBA only survives because of the NBA subsidies, that they don’t earn enough from ticket sales and TV money to make it otherwise”

I suspect at least for next year WNBA will see an uptick in ticket sales with Caitlin Clark currently playing for Iowa going pro. Of course that will make many WNBA supporters not necessarily happy as she is straight and white.

Are there getting to be fewer and fewer ‘People Of Color’ in Women’s basketball?

I do not watch NBA games except for a little of the playoffs. The WNBA? It is an inferior version of the NBA, slowed down and ... well, it's women. No one watches. Caitlin Clark may provide a bit of a spark who knows.

I was amazed that years ago the NBA cut off official life support of the WNBA. Since then the NBA unofficially funds the WNBA to the tune of 12 million per year.
