Bless your grandmother. For sure you are what you eat. I read a book 60 years ago, “Food Is Your Best Medicine” (now available on AMZ) when I had a sick little boy. Changed his diet, changed his life. Mine too. Of course we now have to eat certain things organic with no GMOs, which were not a problem back then.
Pasture raised eggs and chicken, no wheat, no salt on anything, skip seed oils, only extra virgin olive oil, etc etc. I don’t eat saturated fats like butter and cheese and really don’t miss them.
Woman who sold me new insurance was seriously impressed that I didn’t need prescription drugs for cholesterol. . No wheat? Told her I buy BFree seed bread at Natural Grocer or Walmart online. Delish. Modern wheat has junk in it that raises cholesterol. I read that in a book by Wm Davis, MD: “Wheat Belly” Stopped eating wheat and cholesterol perfect in two months.
I’m 87, take one prescription drug, have blood pressure like a teenager’s, and eat all the right things. Walk a mile a day — couldn’t do that for awhile because I had a broken ankle, but doc said last week I could go back to the gym.
