This is one of my pet peeves, in a very broad sense. It's not just about stopping shoplifters.
Corporations have lost all loyalty to their workers. If there is any sort of conflict, for any reason, just assume that your employee is at fault, and fire them. If the budget isn't looking great, find some employees and fire them. If you have a stupid policy that your employees don't like, fire them.
"Hey -- I sign the paychecks, don't I?????? I can fire anyone at anytime. It's deeply satisfying and makes me feel important. Fire those employees left and right. Yee haaa!"
And (possibly related ...) corporations seem pretty upset by the lack of loyalty that employees now show to the corporation. The quiet quitting. The leaving without two weeks notice. In many ways, the wage slaves seem not to love their masters, and they show insufficient loyalty. What could be the cause? It is a mystery.
Not just that, they are all about the shareholders. Pay your employees and maybe they will care about the company.
Why should they? Home Depot isn’t going to reward them and the corrupt police who protect the criminals and politicians just arrest and prosecute the good guys.
That’s unfortunately a good way to get shot, or sued, in America now.
I’m just surprised they had a 40 gallon trash can for $1.00 or now a $1.25bsince everything is the same price. Trash cans are now insanely priced, $50-$100
I can tell you’ve never been in a Dollar General. Not everything is $1.00 (or $1.25).
You’re right, and we should all start stealing as well since nothing will happen and we’ll be able to save some money
I really don’t care. If the company doesn’t, why should I?
Precisely the reason I don’t go to Dollar General which is why I wouldn’t call that a “dollar store”. True dollar store would be “Everything is $.99” or “Dollar Tree”
Not everything at Dollar Tree (or King Dollar) is $1.00 either.
We used to have a store called “Everything’s 99 cents” or “99 cents only” store, but I think they collapsed.
Do good anyway...
Capitulating to this sh*t isn’t going to make it go away.
RE: Do good anyway...
I’m trying. To some people I am very trying.
If up to the people now that our judicial system is corrupted.
DAs, police, security, and corporations would.
It’s their job, not mine or yours.
Some retard who watches too many movies is going to get killed by some chimp.
No. Individual security STARTS with the Individual. Farming that out to others is not only costly, but stupid.
You are free to sip your soy latte and crap on the efforts of others though... Free speech and all that...
Personal security isn’t stopping shoplifters.
Maybe someday I’ll be as tough as anonymous online posters.
I doubt it, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying...
Good luck.
“I would support the others stopping this thief, but the language they used gives me no choice but to be against them.”
Oh brother. You’re OK with criminals being criminals, but you scurry away to your fainting couch if someone says a naughty word?
“I would support the others stopping this thief, but the language they use”
I too was appalled at their lack of common decency. There were women and children who were exposed to their F-bombs and other profanity.
No one was more appalled than I was.
