Yes, Russia has political oppression. So does the USA. So does France. So does England. So does India. So does Canada.
Words mean things. Blacks were enslaved in the South. Women are enslaved by sex traffickers. One might even say that prisoners are enslaved by their guards.
Russia is a country of 143 million people, most of whom live ordinary lives, working at jobs, going to school, getting married, raising kids, worshipping at the church on Sundays.
Russians have Presidential elections, too. Presumably you know that? Since the establishment of the position of the President of Russia in 1991, the presidential elections have taken place seven times: in 1991, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2018.
