Don't know what cops make in Mississippi.But the mall in my town has a big placard just outside of the entrance to Nordstrom’s advertising for applicants to the New Haven (CT) Police Department. It said that the starting salary is about $50,000 a year and that after 2 years it goes to $74,000 a year.

They must be desperate because the mall is about a 2.5 hour drive from New Haven...so one wouldn't expect those living near the city to be shopping at our mall.
