Sun Yat-sen was far more socialist than Chiang, for the record.

And if there were true national socialists in China, they were and are to be found in the CCP. Whence “socialism with Chinese characteristics”?

I will grant you Sun Yat Sen.
I will grant you Mao and Co.
But still, the Kuomintang was “socialist” officially.

Different flavors of similar things seem to hate each other worse than most divergent things.

So was, BTW, Lee Kwan Yew of Singapore, originally.

There were an awful lot of national socialists in those days, and to this day, especially in postcolonial societies.
