Putting politics into any film means you have abandoned any attemtp to simply tell a story. Also, women cannot tell compelling stories. Mebbe one out of a million can, the rest are affirmative action hires.
Disney decided two things a while back: to bludgeon everyone with their ideology and to normalize pedo.
I would say that the great actresses of yesterday were great story tellers; acting after all is telling a story and making the audience believe.
I believed Ingrid Berman’s character in Casal Blanca was torn between Humphrey Bogart and Paul Heinreid, I believed that Jeanette MacDonald loved Nelson Eddy, I believed that Vivein Leigh was a superficial and beautiful young flirt with hidden depths in Gone with the Wind.
I could go on and on, Barbara Stanwick, Ginger Rogers, Katherine Hepburn . . . you are being quite unfair to women.
