“OK, which of you can kiss my ring the most?”
Funny
Laura Ingraham rattled off a list of names at a town hall event in Greenville, SC,
It probably has one name on it. Trump knows who he’s going to pick. He’s just waiting for the right moment to announce.
It will be Eric Trump
Ben carson?
None of the above. Get a new list. Thought he would have learned his lesson from last time.
DeSantis needs to keep Florida safe. VR isn’t NBC and has major used car salesman vibes. Just no on Tulsi.
Trump votes in Florida so DeSantis is ineligible to be his running mate. There are a lot of good possibilities. I like Ramaswamy but he might not be best electorally. Gabard I think needs more experience though I like her. Kristy Noem would be a good choice too.
We won’t know anything until he announces it. Until then, he’s playing us... hopefully, with that awful list.
“icky Nikki”
Good one!
Trump will play for the “minorities” and “independents”= for the general election; hoping his GOP base of supporters now will understand you can’t change things if you don’t win.
His V.P, pick will be either a woman or a Black man.
This is not Trump’s short list. The headline is a lie.
These names were suggested to him and he politely said they were good people.
If he has a short list, he hasn’t made it public.
Even if he did mention some names, that would not in any way commit him, so we would be no closer to knowing who he’s actually going to pick.
President Trump’s current goal is to go into the convention as strong as possible. The stronger he is going into the convention, the more control he has over party platform, cabinet picks and campaign funding and strategy.
The way to show strength is:
1) win the delegates by a margin as overwhelming as possible
2) stay ahead in opinion polls
3) win key endorsements
4) do all of the above WTHOUT HAVING PICKED A RUNNING MATE.
Picking a running mate in order to broaden your appeal within your own party is a sign of weakness. And the only reason a candidate would pick a running mate early is to broaden your appeal - so that too is a sign of weakness.
For example, Reagan had won 60% of the delegates going into the convention, the rest mostly won by Bush. So, while Reagan had won by enough to secure the nomination, and Bush had conceded and endorsed Reagan, he was likely concerned that the 40% who didn’t vote for him in the primaries would not be as enthusiastic going into the general election. No doubt, this is why he felt he had to pick Bush as his running mate.
Perhaps if Reagan had won the primaries more convincingly, he would have been free to pick someone more aligned with his ideology (and less connected to the deep state).
President Trump wants to avoid having to broker deals - so he wants to show strength by winning closer to 90% of the delegates and by not having to form any coalitions to unite the party.
That’s why I doubt Trump will select a running mate until he has already secured the nomination. It’s also important to understand WHY he picks who he picks.
If he picks a RINO running mate it will be a show of weakness.
If he picks a MAGA running mate it will be a show of strength.
Trump will only pick someone who will turn on and eventually attack him. That’s the way Trump works.
any names thrown out in a list in this manner won’t really be considered.
I watched Tulsi respond to a question about abortion. It was like watching a snake twist around a tree branch. I would not vote for her.
Trump said weeks ago he has already picked his VP. I’m sure that’s true. He has a very small circle.
Thank you for your remarks.
What do you suppose the point was, for this presumptuous boob to drop a short-list naming VP probabilities?
If a short-list exists at all, it is not about the VP. That ship has sailed.
Trump is 1) unifying the bird brains who dared to run against him for the R Party nomination, and also the goofy Democrat Hawaiian who ran for the Democrat Party nomination, in the last election. (She.. is topic for another day, God willing.) 2) Trump is willing to do horse’s head negotiations where necessary, for VOTES. But also to reward merit, where he sees it, with positions, ambassador appointments, etc.
You are correct. Trump has known whoever it is that he wants by his side, the second in command, as VP, probably for years.
It’s someone who has been through the fire and knows the deadly game in DC, against America. Donors are going fear this pick as much as they do Trump.
Those goofy names have stricken fear... in no one.
TED CRUZ!
MTG is a shocking threat to the DC communist revolutionaries on both sides of the aisle! She’s so shocking she even shocks us!
She’s exactly what America needs, but are too scared to be seen supporting. I suppose Trump thinks the same of her?
We desperately need a smash mouth team, or we’re never going to resurrect traditional America from the clutches of destruction. MTG comes straight at adversity with her big mouth and fearless fight.
RAND PAUL
:: What do you suppose the point was ::
1. Dark State intel trying to maneuver the un-maneuverable Trump.
2. Intel/media plant attempting to narrate the narrative.
