Do kids still learn Pythagorean Theorem? Triangles?

I’m a retired public high school teacher. When I first started teaching 30 some years ago, I taught math. Geometry was its own separate course. And it was based on formal proofs. Given this, prove that.

It was a great course, as it taught logical and organized thinking. So naturally the school board got rid of it. Near the end of my career, I taught physics. And we used the Pythagorean Theorem often. It has many practical applications.

Most people won’t understand the Pythagorean Thereom until the wizard gives them a brain.
