They’re just trying to “shoehorn the math” into the current set of observations. It will take awhile before something coherent develops by then the observations might change then you’ll have to do it again.

I don’t no the nuts and bolts of astrophysics and cosmology, I just like finding and looking at objects in the sky, I am curious as to how it all works, but a lot of this stuff is (pardon the pun) waaay over my head. Even watching every episode of The Big Bang Theory hasn’t helped.
