If she just dropped the kid off and left him to walk the 8 blocks home she wouldn't be in this situation. If she was worried about letting him walk she should have parked a few blocks down the road and waited for him. She tried to drive beside him and she hit him with the car when he tried to open the rear door of the moving vehicle. The headline is misleading. She didn't run him over intentionally. I don't think she ran him over at all. It sounds like he was dragged a short distance when he grabbed the car door handle.
