Back when I was a young’un, long ago, one of the criteria for a VP choice was “ready to become President if necessary”.
Lately, that has obviously fallen into disuse, I mean, Kamala Harris??? Elected Senators make terrible Presidents, there have only been 3 since the 17th Amendment, two were catastrophic and when the third tried to govern he got his brains blown out on a public street.
But around here, the main criterion seems to be the ability what tweeting or speaking to “own the libs”. I don’t know much about Ramasawmy, can you tell me what his qualifications to take over the Executive Branch if the need arose?
The other criteria that seems to be ignored these days is ability to help the presidential candidate win a critical swing state—usually a governor or other prominent citizen of that state.
Neither party seems to be paying attention to that.

CEO, business owner, anti-woke, anti-identity politics. Trump didn’t have experience in government either, but Trump has more business and life experience than Ramaswamy. On the other hand, Ramaswamy is much smarter than Trump.
