An acquaintance told me the story of a cousin whose golf foursome fell apart on a Saturday morning in Phoenix. Trying to decide whether to go home or hit the bar for refreshment and an early lunch, he was approached to complete another foursome -- and in that manner met O.J. Simpson.

O.J. proved to be a good golfer and engaging and funny as a companion. He did have a temper though that could quickly boil over at a small frustration. Soon, the cousin had become regular every Saturday in O.J.s foursome. That lasted several months before the cousin's wife found out and put a stop to it.

"O.J. proved to be a good golfer and engaging and funny as a companion."

Funny you should mention O.J. and golf. Back when O.J.'s trial was going on, Howard Stern commented on the jury they'd picked. He said if you're supposed to be tried by a jury of your peers, then O.J.'s jury should have consisted of all white male golfers, because those are the people O.J. hung around with.
