Two moms from Kentucky are speaking out after they were drugged and raped in the Bahamas after the US issued a travel warning for the vacation hotspot.
Longtime friends Amber Shearer and Dongayla Dobson said their first kid-free vacation ended with a traumatic, broad-daylight assault when they decided to go to the beach after the Carnival cruise ship they were on docked at the island country.
Now they’re warning other women. The moms were relaxing on a Grand Bahama beach when a resort staffer offered them a two-for-one drink deal
...
they soon felt like the drinks were much stronger than expected. Even their loved ones back home grew concerned when the women sent back videos where they seemed to be highly intoxicated just 15 minutes after their first sips, .
...
They went to look for seashells to bring back to their kids when a male resort staffer offered to show them the best spot to find shells.
But the next thing Shearer could recall was waking up while she was being assaulted by a uniformed male resort staffer.
...
Back on the cruise ship, the moms received the results of their toxicology tests — which showed they had a plethora of drugs in their systems, including benzodiazepines.
...
“To see the things that showed up on my [toxicology] screen was just traumatizing all over again
...
The mothers are also angry with Carnival — which they say failed to tell them about the US State Department travel advisory for the Bahamas until after their horrific assault.
...
exercise increased caution” when visiting the Bahamas due to crime and gang-on-gang violence that have resulted in 18 murders in January alone.

Another warning NEVER to travel to a Third World country.
i originally read carnival recommended this resort. so yeah, what is up with that?
From what I read this was a Carnival excursion. Why are we blaming the victims?
When I was a kid (about ten years old) my parents took the family on a trip to a Caribbean island (not sure which)...
The resort was beautiful but being a curious kid I wandered around the gated property.
I looked through the gate and could see some of the locals looking back at me.
I went to my parents and I said “they hate us”.
My parents asked me what I meant.
I explained that nobody had ever looked at me that way—it was raw hate.
They told me “nothing to see there”.
I saw what I saw.
I felt what I felt.
I never went back to any of those islands ever again.
Carnival does own a resort there . I was there in ‘88 . I can’t remember the name, I’m still trying to forget that nightmare “ vacation “ .
I want to know the extent that the criminals are being punished. Here in the USA we are not punishing criminals and we are seeing a tidal wave of increased crime.
“Apparently everybody is responsible for them but them.”
Come on. You’re saying they’re responsible for getting drugged and raped. Get a life you idiot.
You remind me of the typical military idiot where everything is the subordinates fault. “You shoulda thought of that sergeant. Sucks to be you. Now sign this article 15”
You’re drinking very early in the morning.
This is why you don’t go to the Bahamas. So many nice places in the Caribbean.
my aunt told me the same thing in the 1960’s..... she went to Jamaica and beneath the smiles and “welcome to Jamaica” there was pure hatred.
I’ve never been. I could just hang out in the Baltimore airport and get the same vibe.
Any place you go, anywhere, you need to be vigilant and protect yourself. I for one only buy beer in non opened cans or bottles in certain places.
American TV and popular corporate-media entertainment culture convinces women - you are tired and long-suffering, your husband is a fool, your children are a burden, the woke wide world is your oyster, and you need your freedom and fun!
Sadly the reality of the world is VERY different.
"Kids are different today" I hear every mother say
I sincerely hope you don’t have children. BTW Nikki aint gonna win, give it up.
In the NY Post, there is a picture of the two women standing next to a sign that says "Bahamian Village". Is that the name of the resort?
Drugs and booze, that’s quite the combo isn’t it.
My wife an I were talking Sunday as we drove onto Coco Beach passing 4 or 5 huge passenger ships.
She said she wanted to take a Bahamas cruise. I said Google Bahamas and up came the government advisory.
Story after story, we for one are not getting on a ship with 5,000 people, no thanks.
Been there 40 or more years ago
Dumb, naive, celebrity obsessed white women have destroyed everything our ancestors fought for, and they’ve destroyed the future of western civilization and our descendants. They need to be brought back in line.
Never accept open drinks 🍹!
