Mike Johnson Gathers Far-Right Christians to Cast Out Demons
Rolling Stone ^ | February 6 2024 | Tim Dickenson

Posted on 02/06/2024 11:12:50 AM PST by tired&retired

GOP lawmakers and extremist pastors joined together to repent over LGBTQ freedoms, abortion, and nonbelievers

NATIONAL GATHERING FOR PRAYER AND REPENTANCE House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and two dozen members of Congress assembled at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., last week for the second-annual National Gathering for Prayer and Repentance. The event was chock-a-block with Christian nationalist pastors and featured a clarion call for spiritual warfare, with members of Congress beseeching fellow Christians to “tie the hands of Satan” and to “bind the demonic forces” that are supposedly possessing America.

I believe that they take it from this passage:

Mark 3:27
21st Century King James Version

27 No man can enter into a strong man’s house and despoil his goods, unless he will first bind the strong man; and then he will despoil his house.

If Leftists have power, which they believe they do, then talk of unseen hostile beings says otherwise. So a great part of their ridicule and anger is fear.

PS: Sorry for posting this response on your devotional thread. What a blooper!

Those who say they do not choose evil fool themselves, as evil does not appear as evil when the choice is made.

It is through the experiences of making choices that one learns discernment.

Go back and reread the parable of the prodigal son. The brother who took his father’s money and wasted it on sin learned from his bad choices and found humility. At the time, he was unaware that his choices were bad. It was through his pain and suffering that he found God.

The other brother, who claimed to make good choices still held anger and jealousy. His heart was hard and not in a position to know God.

Tribulation is coming and many who have pride in their good choices will suffer extremely, as they fool themselves.

God reaches out for the lost sheep as He Loves them too. Many Christians don’t even realize that they are lost. There is much more to knowing and experiencing God, as the Pharisees learned in Luke 11 when He said “Woe unto you, Pharisees!”

He “came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” That’s a scripture.

For all who are criticizing this being from Rolling Stone, this passage comes to mind....

Philippians 1:15-18 Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.

If they had not put out this article in mockery, then we would never have heard it because you have to know that the MSM would NEVER report it. It would be completely off their radar.

Let them mock. It exposes them for the fools they are.

I think you are responding to another post, but,

`That does not mean that we do not follow the laws, but we follow out of Love, not fear of consequences if we break it.

That condition is a progression to "perfect love" (1 John 4:18) while the Spirit of Christ certainly warns of consequences for impenitently not obeying the Lord, esp. of dying in that state. (1 Co. 11:32; Gal. 5:1-5; Heb. 3:12-14; Heb. 10:25-31, Heb. 10: 38-39; 1 Thessalonians 3:5)

As it does those who pervert the word of God, including defining being “born again” as "raising your consciousness frequency through prayer and meditation" to higher levels and progressive Spirit cleansing for to be pure enough to be in the Light of Heaven, and other secret esoteric deceptions.

“but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil.”
(Rom 16:19b)

“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?”
(Rom 6:1,2)

What you typed is ignorant of God’s very Word. A demonstration of immaturity- or worse.

Read the larger text of Romans 16.

Remember, Paul, who was Saul, was a legalistic Pharisitic Jew before his conversion on the road to Damascus. Some of his old theology and personal character traits still came through after his conversion.

Romans 16: 16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Do you greet people with a Holy Kiss? Do you follow Paul’s assertions regarding women? Don’t be a hypocrite and pick and choose Paul’s words that appear to support your theology.

“Paul also wants for these believers in Rome to continue to be “innocent about what is evil.”

The Greek word here is “akeraios,” which can also mean “unmixed, pure, or simple.” He wants them to continue to avoid sinful practices instead of becoming tainted or scarred by participating in them.

Jesus said something similar: “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves” (Matthew 10:16).

However, look at the differences in the m8nistry of Peter and Paul.

Paul’s ministry was a legalistic, judgemental rule oriented leader/teacher. Peter guided people to accept and experience the Holy Spirit and grow in Christ, like at Pentecost.

Jesus was confronted by the Pharisees like Saul his entire ministry. They lived with constant condemnation and judgement. Such judgement was constantly rebuked by Jesus as I rebuke you. Your judgement is not out of love. It blocks love.

As Jesus stated several times, “I have not come to judge, but to save.”

I read and study Jesus’s word. Like Bart Ehrman, I have a problem with Paul’s teachings. I do not agree with Paul on everything he said, as he often contradicted himself.

I understand why Paul said what he did, especially about women, marriage, homosexuality, and other matters, as I see how the individual soul and consciousness responds in these situations.

I will not waste my time on hypocrites. If I feel Love coming from your heart, my ears and mind are open to hear your words, even if they differ from my current understanding. I am learning and changing as my soul grows and my expanded awareness allows me to perceive more. As such, I always seek to listen and learn from those whose heart is open. I have difficulty with those who teach God’s word in judgement and condemnation and have not Love in their hearts.

Without Love, people are blind. May the blind lead the blind. Let those who have eyes to see and ears to hear open their hearts to Love and allow the Holy Spirit to enter and guide them.

This is why Jesus stated, most will not see Him. They cannot see Him without Love. He is here now, but most cannot see or experience Him as they have no Love.

” He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

Do not judge that which you do not understand.

Do you believe in medicine and the continued research on the body?

What I speak of is scientific fact based upon current research. It does not discount the Bible, it adds to better understanding the developmental progression of soul growth and why the Bible teaches what it does.

You are entitled to your feelings and opinions, but not your facts.

100% agree with Paul in his letter to the Galatians

Galatians 5

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. 3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

You are entitled to your feelings and opinions, but not your facts.

Which applies to you and your anti-Scriptural heresy as described. And I am sure there is much more in your esoterical bag. Which includes how one is "born again."

This “born again” has physical changes in perception. It has to do with raising your consciousness frequency through prayer and meditation to levels where you perceive directly with your consciousness beyond your physical body..... This is how the Christian mystics and Saints do what they do.
So it is in transcendence when you begin to perceive directly with your consciousness beyond your physical body. The blind can see with consciousness. It’s an entirely new reality, but you cannot achieve it until you cleanse your soul of sin(with the help of the Holy Spirit). You are actually raising your brain wave frequency above 40 Hz as reflected on an EEG. This is the “lifted or raised up” Jesus spoke of. It is only with your higher prayerful consciousness that you will perceive Jesus, just as the lightning in the east is seen in the west.

No: . John 3 does not refer to some process of consciousness raising and progressive cleansing, of being “lifted or raised up” via "higher prayerful consciousness," but an event of being being born "anew"by the Spirit, of being forgiven and receiving the actual Spirit of Christ, which results in basic profound changes in heart and life. Meaning that of conversion by penitent, effectual; heart-purifying, regenerating faith, (Acts 10:43-47; 15:7-9 Titus 3:5) which faith is is imputed for righteousness, (Romans 4:5) and is what is shown in water baptism and following the Lord, (Acts 2:38-47; Jn. 10:27,28) who was sent by the Father to be the savior of the world. (1 John 4:14)

And by which faith the redeemed soul is "accepted in the Beloved" and positionally seated with Him in Heaven, on His account, glory to God. (Ephesians 1:6; 2:6; cf. Phil. 3:21) And while there are different degrees of growth in knowing and being Christ-like, and positions with Christ, yet all all those who die in that obedient faith will go to be forever with Him at death or His return (Phil 1:23; 2Cor. 5:8 [“we”]; Heb, 12:22,23; 1Cor. 15:51ff'; 1Thess. 4:17) In contrast to those who were never born of the Spirit or who terminally fall away. (Gal. 5:1-4; Heb. 3:12; 10:25-39

Your "theology" in and behind so many of your claims (including such as "The life review process is merely the soul absorbing the Light energy of Heaven causing it to expand through the stored memories in their soul in reverse sequence. This is what Paul was referring to in Hebrews 9:28", "Hell is the experience of those who hold onto guilt, fear,... I’ve helped thousands of these souls cleanse to enter the Light through prayer." "Merely touching a sin stored many feet from a person’s physical body in their soul often knocks the person off their feet. When people die near me, I get freezing cold as they are draining my soul energy to expand," and "a 97 year old woman who was blind and bedridden... did not eat anything for the next 3 weeks...I sat next to her, praying non stop...Her physical body began radiating heat like a furnace...I could see the liquid swirling golden Light around the woman... the Holy Spirit came upon her in a lower strength of Light and cleansed her soul for 3 weeks before she was pure enough to be in the Light of Heaven" "With enough meditation and prayer, anyone can make this journey to Heaven while still in your physical body") is close to such cultists as Swedenborg and the Roy Masters.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (2 Corinthians 11:4) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

Your beliefs are flat out heresy and demonic. They are NOT Scriptural except in the fact that they have a Jesus window dressing and use some Bible verses to claim to support them.

They are there in your posting history for all to see and simply going through the last two most recent pages of your posting history provides more than enough evidence of your teachings, which BARELY qualify as *another gospel* since they are so far whacked out.

And even in this post, you admit another source of authority for your claims with Scripture being added for back up of man made beliefs.

The Bible does NOT teach what you claim it does about the metaphysical nor is your explanation of *born again* even close to what Scripture teaches.

It’s flat out Eastern Mysticism disguised as Christianity using a Jesus window dressing and appeals to Scripture to try to give it legitimacy.

The Jesus of the cults, is not the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of the cults, will take them straight to hell. I don’t take any solace in that, merely stating a fact.
