For Democrats to succeed with their 2024 presidential campaign strategy of imprisoning the current front-runner in the race, they need a massive assist from key judges.
District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan has done everything in her power to speed up the process for one of the complicated cases Democrats have filed against former President Donald Trump. Whereas the standard federal fraud and conspiracy case takes about two years to get to trial, controversial Special Counsel Jack Smith and Chutkan have worked in concert to get the trial started in March, a breathtaking seven months after Trump’s indictment.
Likewise, D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Florence Pan is doing her part to assist the effort to give Trump far less time than other defendants to prepare for a trial against him. Last week, she led a panel to fast-track an appeal in order to facilitate Smith’s goal of securing a quick conviction before one of Washington, D.C.’s notoriously partisan juries.
“Any fair-minded observer has to agree” that Smith and Chutkan are acting based on the election schedule, conceded former federal prosecutor and left-wing pundit Elie Honig. “Just look at Jack Smith’s conduct in this case. The motivating principle behind every procedural request he’s made has been speed, has been getting this trial in before the election.”

Even if they succeed, I won’t vote for Haley. Carved in stone, no way no how.
The only conviction and prison sentence that can affect DJTrump is a conviction of insurrection. Nothing else matters, except to the NPCs and numbnuts who watch MSMedia. He can serve from prison — with Secret Service agents right there with him.
The US District Court of Appeals was only created, by Congress, in 1893.
So the Republic functioned for 100+ years without it
Like the US District Court for DC, which has become the Kangaroo Court for DOJ political show-trials in the USA - which was also created by Congress - it should be eliminated.
I agree. Filing for an en banc review gives him more time.
I don’t think the D.C. Circuit has the authority to force Trump to file a petition for a writ of certiorari in 6 days. There are rules of appellate procedure were enacted in to law by Congress. Six days is hardly enough time to read and evaluate the COA opinion.
Interesting the picked six days when if they had said five, weekend days wouldn’t count.
Further proof that Trump’s prosecution is totally political.
Trump has plenty more issues to appeal. These kangaroo court actions will not stand.

I agree completely. She will never get my vote.
“There was excellent reasons for him to truly believe there was fraud in that election. Info has since proven that to be true.”
It is amazing that with all the changes in election procedures in 2020, the democrats, courts, and media all insist it was the “most secure election ever”. Even though, as you said, that has proven to be false. Courts refused to look at the evidence then. However, the information that has been uncovered since 2020 shows that Trump was right. There has also been people arrested, election results thrown out, and evidence produced since then that shows 2020 was not the only election in which fraud was prevalent. Yet, they still go with the “election denier” nonsense.
Trump won in 2020.
A pox on them all!
