Although released in the summer of 1969 in Holland, "Venus" by Shocking Blue reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States in February 1970.

It's a good crossover from the 1960s to the 1970s.

If you want to see a real mind bender then check out when the Lawrence Welk singers did a cover of”One toke over the line “
on one of their shows.

No flip side, no second album, no nothing. Just one album with kind of a cult following.

Sorry, they had a second album, “Marrying Maiden” that actually charted higher than the first album.

Ram Jam sounded like a Southern band despite being formed in New York City. The lead singer was from New Jersey and the bassist played in some of Billy Joel's bands.

In 1978 they released a cover of the folk song "Black Betty" once covered by Lead Belly. The song still has airplay today.

Their look and sound is so 1970s.

I enjoy listening to brief snippets in my head when I see the song title. It’s like instant dopamine without waiting for the entire song. And the nostalgic time/place that go with it.

You’ve got Tony Burrows on this list three times with three different groups.

Is he still a one hit wonder?
