On Thursday, NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit premiered an episode in which a white rape victim agonizes over prosecuting her rapist because he's black.
In the episode, "Truth Embargo," the rape occurs during a mass smash-n-grab robbery of a high-end store. One of the masked looters spots a shopper in a bathing suit near the dressing room and attacks her.
At the hospital, the victim, Natalie (Romina D'Ugo), falsely claims she did not see the rapist because he was wearing a mask. Video store cameras later show he took off his mask before entering the dressing area.
Natalie's lesbian partner, Brooke (Keeley Miller), is angry at police detectives when she meets them in the hospital, somehow blaming them for New York City's spiking crime:
Brooke: [Scoffs] What happened to this city? I mean-- are the police trying to prove some kind of point?
Detective Velasco: What point is that?
Brooke: That we still need you.

It used to be my favorite show, but, the show changed to parroting far left social justice messages about 4 or so years ago. I stopped watching it. I’ll rewatch their old episodes tho.
It is TV.
They are trying to influence the uninformed.
I recall the producers of that show taking that bit of flak over how they portrayed law enforcement in general during the BLM riots some four years ago. I guess something like this is their sort of gesture to the left.
This show “Jumped the shark” years ago. The creator Prick Wolf is a Leftist Democrat.
I can not think of a time when law and Order was NOT a leftist screed.
I hate the show. But my GF was addicted to it for a long time.
Great meme. Perfectly sums it up!
Once upon a time, I never watched tv. It bored me. So, I had no idea about SVU… until I got sick with Leukemia and treatment (chemo and then a stem cell transplant) turned me into a bubble girl. That was in 2015. At first I was appalled by the subject matter: But, soon enough I l started binging it. And I binged about every police/law procedural show out there during my recovery. I had many years to catch up on lol.
I’m back to my old self and being somewhat bored of tv again.
I feel the same as your regarding these shows.
It’s the only way they could show a black rapist. Frankly, I’m stunned they took it that far! Next thing you know, we will see black teens busting into homes with security alarms blaring in commercials. But the homeowners will welcome them with hugs and invite them to help themselves.
