Cleaning products emit hundreds of hazardous chemicals, new study finds
Remember a Q drop about that. This is why I make my own cleaning stuff, have for 35 years, and use a natural non-fragranced dish detergent. Artificial fragrances all have formaldehyde as an ingredient, which is the most used toxic chemical in household cleaners etc.
Thats a yawner, most of what they’re touting look to be alcohols or fragrance oils, etc...
Remember, if something is flammable it’s a “hazardous chemical”. If the pH (IIRC) over 8.5 or under 6.5 that’s a “hazardous chemical” etc...
Stuff like this is generated by PIRGs (”Public Interest Research Groups”) because they have to do this stuff to keep the $ flowing.
If you took a pound of insects and ground them up and diluted to the cleaners thinness liquid wise and then ran samples through Gas Chromatograph and Mass Spectroscopy you would probably find not only just as many or more different VOC’s but probably a good smattering of stuff like SVOC’s (Semi Volatile Organic Compounds) and other stuff...
